Volunteer Mobilizaton Centers
What will your agency do if a disaster strikes in Frederick County? How would you maintain the services you provide to clients? Will you have access to your facility? Will your agency staff still be available? Even if you have an emergency plan in place, it is difficult to predict exactly what your agency will need. However, you may have a good idea of what those needs might be.
In the event of a disaster - volunteers can help! Volunteer Frederick has been asked by the Frederick County Office of Emergency Management to establish a Volunteer Mobilization Center (VMC) in Frederick County in the event of a disaster. Volunteers can fill a variety of needs in the aftermath of an emergency - everything from clearing debris, providing clerical support, to serving as interpreters and providing security - among other roles.
At a VMC, potential volunteers will be interviewed, registered and assigned to emergency/disaster volunteer duties at your agency and other government and non-profit agencies in Frederick County if requested.
Please see the Volunteer Mobilization Center section for more information on this service.
